Sea Technology, Sep 2007
C & C Technologies' (Lafayette, Louisiana) research vessel Moana Wave recently documented the 100,000th kilometer surveyed by C & C's autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs). The AUV C-Surveyor III crossed the milestone while it was working on a job for Shell Exploration and Production (Rijswijk, The Netherlands) in the Gulf of Mexico.
"This is a great day for C & C as we extend our worldwide lead in this high-technology area," said Thomas Chance, chief executive officer of C & C Technologies. "Our customers and employees have made this world-record achievement possible, and I thank them for that."

The C-Surveyor III is the third and most recent deepwater AUV to be added to C & C's fleet. It has improved C & C's AUV capabilities with extended water-depth ratings of up to 4,500 meters and improved data acquisition sensors, both of which allow for increased worldwide coverage, the company said.
C & C Technologies' AUV services began in January 2001, and their AUVs have serviced more than 50 clients on 180 projects in the offshore waters of 12 different countries. C & C's AUV clients include companies in the oil and gas industry, as well as the Minerals Management Service, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Louisiana State University, Texas A&M University and the British Broadcasting Corp.
