STORA ENSO NAMES NEW CHIEF

Stora Enso has appointed Jouko Karvinen as its new CEO. He will join the company on January 1 and take up the post following the firm's annual general meeting (AGM) on March 29. Karvinen is currently chief executive of Philips Medical Systems Division.
He will replace Jukka Härmälä at the helm of Stora Enso, who will step down after the AGM. But Härmälä will continue to undertake special assignments specified by the board of directors until the end of August.
