IFAC KNOWLEDGENET FOR ACCOUNTANTS IN BUSINESS

Accountancy SA, Nov 2006

KnowledgeNet has been created by IFAC as a resource centre for professional accountants in business. It creates unique and comprehensive information resources tailored to the needs of professional accountants working in and for business. The main objectives are to:

* support cross community searching and sharing of knowledge;

* provide a simple and cost-effective solution that meets a wide range of member body information needs;

* facilitate faster and more co-operative working among professional accountants in business;

* unlock the value of participant information assets without compromising security; and

* encourage better use and development of existing work and knowledge.

The rationale for the project was that there is currently no global online centralised resource that provides quality information and adequately serves the needs of professional accountants in business. The project seeks to address this gap and deliver a relevant information service for professional accountants in business.

The goal of the project is to centralise the wealth of relevant information available to professional accountants through the development of an online resource that brings together quality information produced by IFAC and its member bodies.
