MARRIOTT HOTELS MAKE PLANS TO REDUCE GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS
In Business, May/Jun 2007
Marriott International has announced that it is on schedule to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by nearly one-fifth in the period from 2000 to 2010. In January, the hotel chain said it had reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 70,000 tons in one year, in part by making each guest room more energy-efficient, leading to an emissions drop of about two percent.
Marriott is also launching a global tree-planting project, planting 3,000 trees at hotels to offset greenhouse gas emissions.
