Credit Score Awareness Increasing Slowly
Hoosier Banker, Oct 2005
Thirty-one percent of consumers say they have obtained thek credit scores in the past year, compared to 24 percent who said the same in 2004, according to a study by Consumer Federation of America, Washington, DC, and Providian Financial, Dallas. "If consumers were to raise their credit scores by only 30 points, on average, they would save $16 billion on lower credit card finance charges alone," says J.
Christopher Lewis, Providian's chief public policy officer.
