Siemens will supply turbines for mega wind farm

Siemens Power Generation will deliver 140 wind turbines of 2.3 MW each for the Whitelee Wind Farm to be located south of Glasgow in Scotland, U.K. With an installed capacity of 322 MW, it will be Europe's largest wind farm. The contract has been awarded by Scottish Power, a gas and electricity provider. Completion of the project is scheduled for summer 2009.
