GE signs agreement with ProLogis for Maryland space

PROLOGIS RECENTLY announced that it has signed a build-to-suit agreement for 1,004,000 square feet of distribution space with the General Electric Co. in Baltimore, Md. The building will be used by GE as an East Coast distribution center for its GE Consumer Products Division.

The new, rail-served facility is under construction at the Principio Business Park near the I-95 and U.S. Route 40 interchange. GE's current northeastern distribution center, located in Belcamp, Md., employs approximately 125 people who are expected to continue working at the new facility. Employment is expected to increase to 150 workers in the future to handle increased distribution activities.

The project has been designated a "Fast Track" project by the Cecil County Commissioners, which provides coordinated review by all of the state and local agencies needed to approve the project.
