Area Development Site and Facility Planning,  Aug 2003

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TRENDS

I am preparing a 20- to 30-page report on innovative programs as well as services and trends in utility economic development programs for Platts Research and Consulting (a division of The McGraw Hill Companies). The target audience is Platts' E Source members, who are utility VPs or managers/directors in marketing, key accounts, sales, customer service/DSM, and strategic/corporate planning. The report will also be distributed to all Utility Economic Development Association members.

I would like permission to use some information from your 2002 Corporate Survey in my report. I'm primarily interested in the top-15 site selection factors. In doing so, I believe I will be providing value information to the readers of this report.

INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING

We are seeking permission to use an article from your February 2001 issue, "Auto Manufacturing Technology: Smaller Is Better" by Steve Stackhouse, in an online college course that we are developing called IET 124 Motion & Time Study, which is part of our Industrial Engineering Technology program. We would like for our students to view and use this article in their course projects and discussions. Access to online course material is restricted to registered students with authenticated passwords.
