Harnessing Wind in the Dakotas
Area Development Site and Facility Planning, 2008
BY THE END of 2007, the wind energy generated in the Dakotas will more than quadruple, from 44 megawatts to more than 185 megawatts. Much of this increase will come from the completion of Acciona Energy's Tatanka Wind Farm project, located in Dickey and Mcintosh counties, North Dakota, and McPherson County, South Dakota.
According to Peter C. Duprey, CEO of Acciona Energy North America, "The Tatanka project is a significant milestone both in terms of meeting the United States' growing demand for electricity and for the development of clean, renewable energy."
