Old dog learns new tricks

Congratulations to 76-year-old member, Ralph Armstrong, who has successfully completed the CPA Program. Armstrong, from Mount Gravatt in Queensland, started the program in 2000 as a personal challenge, almost 20 years after he retired. His advice to those wanting to complete the program at a later age is to keep focused. He says: "It may take more time and effort than you anticipate as it looks deceivingly simple. But if you really want to do it, then do it!"

Aussie business owners stress less

Australian business owners are coping better than their international counterparts with increased levels of stress, according to a survey released by Grant Thornton. The 2005 International Business Owners Survey of 6000 business owners in 24 countries found that stress levels are rising across the globe, but only 34 per cent of business owners in Australia say their stress levels have increased over the past year. Owners in Taiwan and Hong Kong were among the world's most stressed.
