E.learning Age, Sep 2007
CrossKnowledge, a European leader in web-based management training has introduced the first in a series of distance learning management programmes developed with the Open University. The launch of the course on effective project management follows CrossKnowledge's recent expansion to the UK and the opening of its London headquarters, aimed at serving the second largest e-learning market in the world.
CrossKnowledge's move to the UK marks an important stage in the company's international development. A French company it operates in Belgium, Canada, China, Japan and Spain. The move to the UK enables CrossKnowledge to offer local support for new and existing customers, many of whom are the European headquarters of large international corporations. It allows the company to build and continue relationships with strategic partners such as the Open University and Manchester Business School, and training and coaching organisations.
Close co-operation with the Open University has resulted in the development of Becoming an Effective Project Manager, the first in a series of courses combining the Open University's tutoring experience, teaching techniques and learning materials, with CrossKnowledge's e-learning expertise. Other management courses are currently in development, due to be available later this year.
"We are delighted to be strengthening our relationship with CrossKnowledge, combining our experience to provide our business students around the world with first class training materials that they can apply in their real working Ufe," said Charles Edwards, Director CCPD, the Open University.
"The opening of our London headquarters and close co-operation with the Open University demonstrate our commitment to the UK market," said Neil Hinwood, Director, CrossKnowledge UK.
