Open-end viscose spinning
We are a small open-end (OE) spinning mill. We are producing cotton OE yarn from Ne 6 to Ne 30. Taking into account market demand, we are thinking to shift the entire spinning mill to 100% OE viscose yarn:
1) Is this a specific operation and do we need to make big changes in the set up of our machinery?
2) Would you recommend a 38 or a 44 mm fibre?
3) What is the best compromise regarding the dtex and the length of the fibre?
Naceur Ben Nasrallah; E-mail: naceur@risatel.com
I suggest you contact Mr Manohar Samuel at Grasim in Mumbai (tel: +91 -22-2421 -0182/83/84/85/86). He can give you complete details and also help you with the trials. Being a viscose fibre supplier, they have experience of all the viscose spinners in the country (India).
Ravishankar; E-mail: kstechconsult@sify.com
As such, you don't require big changes to your machinery. You can try 1.67 dtex ( 1.5 denier), 32 mm fibre.

Organic cotton/recycled polyester blend
Because there is a big growing market for products that are natural and the awareness of recycling is growing in North America, we are looking for a yarn of 50% organic cotton and 50% recycled polyester. Can anyone supply such a product?
Mey Lakshmanan; E-mail: meyy@charter.net
We have access to organic cotton, but I am not sure about the recycled polyester. What yarn count are you looking for? What quantity? Is it for knitting?

Inox filament yarn
We're looking for suppliers for 100% Inox filament yarn (75 dtex). What is the price of this type of filament?
Naceur Ben Nasrallah; E-mail: naceur@risatel.com
You can find AISI 316L filament yarn at Sprint Metal (Groupe Usinor; http://sprintmetal.ugitech.com) or Bekaert (www.bekaert.com). Price for small quantity of VN12/2x275 (500 tex) is about euro 165 kg^sup -1^. However, this is not for high temperature use.

Awning exhibitions
I am interested in exhibition events for our solution-dyed polyester awning fabrics particularly in the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, and Southern. Arabia areas. Can anyone suggest any useful exhibitions for awnings?
S. Hariri; Email: s_hariri@adaafzar.com
While not located in the geographic areas you indicated, the IFAI Expo is a premier event for awning fabrics (as well as other speciality fabrics). It next takes place 3 I October to 2 November in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
Just prior to the previous /FA/ Expo, in October 2005, another related event took place which also might interest you-Fabric Structures 2005. For more information, visit http://www.ifaiexpo.info.

Triaxial weaving
I am interested in triaxial weaving. Does anyone have any further information on this subject or is aware of manufacturers of such fabrics?
Carmel Meredew; E-mail: carmelmeredew@technitex.org
Please try
