A media training course incorporating completed Radio & TV programmes

TV presenter Nigel Jay is introducing a new departure along the familiar path of media training. The Media Experience is more than just a training session in interview techniques. Participants from business, industry and public organisations will take part in broadcast-style TV and radio programmes in BBC studios, as part of their training in how to be interviewed and cope with the interviewer. The 20-30 minute TV and radio training programmes will be available on cassette (audio and VHS) for companies to view and use in their own training meetings. Their personnel will be seen and heard in as live simulated broadcasts, answering questions on matters directly affecting their business.

Nigel Jay, of BBC TV and radio, says: "Jaymedia's media experience is designed to take a step beyond the usual classroom format of media training courses, into a real broadcast programme setting. It gives individuals rather more than just their own recorded interviews to take home; and provides their parent organisations with a complete training aid back at base."

The programme tapes can be replayed to illustrate how company policy should (and should not!) be expressed in public.

By presenting The Media Experience at the BBC's studios, Jaymedia is able to draw on Nigel Jay's long-standing association with the BBC. Expert professional techniques are at hand to provide camera, sound and back-up support. In addition, a short tour of other BBC studio areas is offered as part of each course. Available at BBC centres in most regions in the UK
