Information Technology Management-Pratt & Whitney, a unit of United Technologies Corporation, Hartford, Connecticut, has turned over the management of its global information technology (IT) systems to Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), El Segundo, California, under a 10-year, $1.2 billion contract.

The agreement calls for CSC to acquire and manage Pratt & Whitney's engineering, manufacturing and business distributed systems, including advanced engineering and desktop applications, Unix and NT servers and systems, 20,000 desktops and related peripherals, virtual memory system midrange systems, help desk and voice, video and data networks. Approximately 650 Pratt & Whitney employees have accepted positions with CSC. Pratt & Whitney will retain about 45 IT specialists to direct the company's overall IT strategy, standards and architecture, and to set security policy and administer the contract.
