Signal, Aug 1999

Unisys recently was chosen to provide network services and products for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Computer Equipment, Resources, and Technology Acquisition Network (CERTAN), a network infrastructure program. The CERTAN program is a multipleaward, five-year contract valued at $100 million.

Unisys will provide a range of networking and data products; uninterruptible power supplies; test and diagnostic equipment; software and more. Network services the company will provide include design and installation, as well as operation and maintenance of products purchased under the program. "Participating in the CERTAN program extends Unisys work with HHS into networking solutions-a key area of Unisys expertise," said Joseph Santamaria, vice president and general manager, Integrated Government Solutions, Unisys Federal Systems.
