NASA center supported

Signal, Oct 1999

The John C. Stennis Space Center, located in Mississippi, will use World Wide Web-based applications and new technologies to encourage greater cost savings for the center as part of a business process re-engineering effort. The facility, one of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's 10 field centers, is a main research and development site for testing large rocket propulsion systems for the space shuttle and future launch vehicles.

An outside company will manage the business process re-engineering for the Stennis Space Center. The company will also increase small business and subcontractor participation with the center's projects and has established a small business incubator fund to assist subcontractors seeking financial assistance.

Mississippi Space Services, a joint venture of Computer Sciences Corporation, El Segundo, California, and The IT Group Incorporated, Monroeville, Pennsylvania, will provide the facility operation services for the center.
