The U.S. Air Force Special Investigations Academy (USAFSIA) has received its accreditation by the Federal Law Enforcement Training Accreditation Board of Directors. According to the academy director, the USAFSIA is the first U.S. Defense Department law enforcement school to receive this accreditation, which is valid for three years.

The Air Force Office of Special Investigations sends all potential special agents to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, Georgia, for the basic criminal investigator training program, after which students undergo organization-specific instruction. USAFSIA leadership now will try to receive program accreditation for the basic special investigator's course.
