Bangalore's business service sector is currently growing at 275% per year, with export earnings from software, on-line and on-call sectors forecast at (pounds) 3 billion in 2003, rising to (pounds) 4.7bn by 2006. In 1992 there were only 13 information technology companies based in the southern Indian city, now it has 1200 with an average of three foreign companies setting up every fortnight.
