[ GLASWEGIAN entrepreneur Tracy Bell... ]

Sunday Herald, The,  May 2, 2004

GLASWEGIAN entrepreneur Tracy Bell has teamed up with her Italian partner Giacomo Brescia to run the first British franchise for Italian leather goods company Furla. Bell and Italian-born Brescia, who moved to Scotland in 2003 to prepare for the new venture, plan to open Furla's flagship Scottish store in Glasgow's Princes Square at the end of May.

The duo plan to add another three stores over the next five years in Scotland and the north of England. Bell previously worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers in Rome, specialising in the fashion sector. Furla was one of the first Italian leather goods companies to franchise its stores and now has 90 franchise operations including flagship stores in Milan, Manhattan and Vienna. Photograph: Steve Cox
