(pounds) 1.7m boost for Quaker in Fife

Cereal producer Quaker is to invest (pounds) 1.7 million in an expansion of its factory at Cupar, in Fife.
The investment will create 15 new jobs and bring the total workforce to 130. The expansion is expected to be completed by spring 2005 Quaker is to add two new packing lines to the existing plant, within a 900sq-m building extension. The extra capacity will be used for the company's Oatso Simple and Scotso Easy brands, both of which are enjoying continuing UK and European growth.
Martin Glenn, president of PepsiCo UK, owners of Quaker, said: "Our Quaker and Scott's hot cereal products have consistently gained in sales and we have taken this decision to meet public demand.
