ALAN DICKSON won the Park Systems Stages Rally in Galloway yesterday, in round seven of the County Saab Scottish Championship.

Dickson, of Glasgow, and co-driver Martin Forrest in their Subaru Impreza WRC were 13 seconds ahead of Alistair Tough and Graham Law from Inverness in their Subaru Impreza.

"Some of the other crews have had a few problems but it was a fair and square battle, " said Dickson. "The first stage, Borgan, held up well and we went on to set a storming time through the Glentrool stage.

We changed to harder compound tyres for the afternoon stages."

In the Park Systems Stages National event, the highest placed Scottish Rally Championship registered competitor was Northern Ireland's Phillip Morrow, followed by Greenock's Andy Kelly and Malcolm Proudlock from Dumfries.

Championship leader Barry Johnson was sunk by three punctures.
