An elite business school can get Scotland working ON THE VALUE OF

What is striking is that no Scottish business school features among the 33 in that particular ranking, and you have to go some way down the likes of the FT and Business Week rankings before you hit a Scottish school.

Business has a lot to learn, particularly from the best of business schools. It is surely time to look again at ways of trying to put together the best output of the Scottish business schools to produce one that would rank with the best in the world. Such a project would need a clear vision, a clear "sell" and a clear business case.

That would be part of what is needed to close the productivity gap on the US which, even on the Treasury's figures, is still quite a gap indeed.
