0 Comments | Sunday Herald, The, Sep 9, 2007

OIL services group Abbot delivered a strong set of first-half results on Thursday but its shares slid after it lowered its expectations for full-year profits. Abbot said pre-tax profits in the first half rose 30.3-per cent to GBP35.8 million helped by rig starts and contract extensions. Turnover rose 56.6-per cent to GBP686.2m.

Abbot said it continued to see high levels of demand across all service lines. But investors were disappointed after Abbot said results for the full year will be towards the lower end of forecasts because of higher interest costs. Shares closed at 273.5p.
