OIL services group Abbot delivered a strong set of first-half results on Thursday but its shares slid after it lowered its expectations for full-year profits. Abbot said pre-tax profits in the first half rose 30.3-per cent to GBP35.8 million helped by rig starts and contract extensions. Turnover rose 56.6-per cent to GBP686.2m.
