Shady deals
Matalan, the ultimate style-on-a-shoestring megastore, has come up trumps with a designer sunglasses bonanza. You'll find brands that usually sell for up to pounds 200 for a paltry pounds 25 - so, no excuses for shoddy shades this summer. Labels include D&G, Valentino, Versace, Ray Ban, Calvin Klein, Police, Fendi and Diesel. To find your nearest store visit www.matalan.co.uk
Look who's corking
Moet & Chandon - London Fashion Week's official champagne - is to open up its very first bar on 21 June in London's Selfridges. So if shopping's becoming just too damn tiring, head straight for it, put your feet up with a glass or two, all the while watching the latest catwalk action on plasma screens. For more information call 08708 377377.
Going for gold
Celine may be a label famed for its glitz appeal rather than its sporting prowess, but that hasn't stopped it celebrating this year's Olympic Games, which kick off (builders permitting) in Athens in August. A casualwear range features the Olympic colours set on a white background, adorning everything from the not particularly sporty top-stitched lace-up stilettos and leather- strapped mini dresses, to the entirely sporty cut-out swimsuit (pounds 205, right), mini shorts and jogging pants. For enquiries call 020-7297 4999.
Ahead by a nose
Allure Homme Sport is the new Chanel fragrance for men. A suitably macho metallic-grey lacquered glass bottle with black rubberized cap houses this subtle scent aimed at the athletic, brave and determined chap. (So that's all men then. Not.) It smells a bit spicy, a bit woody, and, well, just very nice actually - nice boys being very of- the- moment just now. It's available from 7 June - 50ml eau de toilette, pounds 31; 100ml, pounds 42; for stockists call 020- 7493 3836.
