*The mother of Rhys Jones broke down yesterday as she faced the teenager accused of killing her son, 11. Melanie Jones wiped away tears as the 17-year-old appeared at Liverpool magistrates' court charged with murder. The youth is alleged to have shot Rhys in the car park of a pub in Croxteth, Liverpool, on 22 August last year.
