Stocks fell, ending a five-day rally, as sentiment sagged following Bank of America's worse-than-expected earnings results. The Nikkei lost 148.7, or 1.1 per cent, to 13,547.8. Shares in the brokerage sector were also hit hard as Japan's securities watchdog was investigating a foreign employee of Nomura over alleged insider trading. Nomura dropped 3.8 per cent.
