Charges unlikely for drunk parents

Home News IN BRIEF
*It is "very unlikely" that a British couple on holiday in Portugal who allegedly got so drunk that they passed out will face charges of neglecting their three young children, a judicial source said. Instead police, hospital and social services reports are expected to be sent to UK authorities. Hotel staff in Vilamoura in the Algarve called police after Eamon McGuckin, 34, and his wife Antoinette, 32, from Maghera, Northern Ireland, collapsed on Friday night. They were taken to a health centre in Loule while their children, all under the age of seven, were taken into care.
