*STOKE CITY Captain Andy Griffin believes he made the "wrong decision" to join Derby last season. The defender eventually moved to the Britannia Stadium in January. "I made the wrong decision last summer. I came back to a club that means a lot to me and to go up is the stuff dreams are made of."

*SOUTHAMPTON Manager Nigel Pearson has admitted his position at St Mary's remains "uncertain", despite saving the Saints from relegation last weekend. "There is a level of uncertainty, but it is out of my hands," Pearson said. "This is a great club. I'd love to stay and be part of the future."

*COVENTRY CITY Kasper Schmeichel is close to agreeing a permanent deal with the Sky Blues, after joining on loan from Manchester City in March. "We want to sign him and he wants to come," the chairman Ray Ranson said. "He has a great career ahead of him."
