*World's oldest gorilla turns 55
Independent, The (London), May 10, 2008
World News IN BRIEF
Jenny, the world's oldest captive gorilla, celebrated her 55th birthday yesterday with a frozen fruit cake made by her keepers at Dallas Zoo. The western lowland gorilla suffers from a few joint problems and her eyesight is failing but otherwise she is in good health. Gorillas in the wild normally live to 30 to 35 but health care and protection from predators means zoo animals live longer.
