WORLD MARKETS
The Nikkei rose 0.2 per cent, led higher by exporters such as Kyocera - up 1.7 per cent - on a softer yen. Chugai Pharma- ceutical rose after partner Roche said it would up its stake in the Japanese drug maker. Konica Minolta rose 4.2 per cent after it said it planned to build a new production facility for high-tech film used to make LCD panels in 2009. The Nikkei rose 33.7 to 14,012.2.
