Imperial to cut jobs

*Britain's Imperial Tobacco said it was to cut about 2,440 jobs from its global workforce of 40,000 after buying the Franco-Spanish tobacco group Altadis in January. Almost 2,000 job losses will occur in France and Spain. Six tobacco plants will close, including one in Bristol with the loss of 260 jobs.
