Ford cuts SUV production again

Independent, The (London),  Jun 21, 2008

Business News IN BRIEF

Sales of petrol-guzzling Ford pick-up trucks and sports utility vehicles are at their lowest level in years, the US car-maker admitted yesterday as it issued a profits warning for 2008 and said it would struggle to break even in 2009 as hoped. Reflecting the speed with which sales are falling, Ford announced production cuts for the second time in a month, saying it would delay the launch of its redesigned F-15 pick-up. Ford blamed petrol prices at over $4 (2.03) a gallon and worries about the weak US economy.
