Mayor's adviser quits over race slur
Independent, The (London), Jun 23, 2008
Home News IN BRIEF
*An adviser to Boris Johnson reported to have called for black critics of the Mayor of London to "go back home" has resigned. In an interview, James McGrath was asked about a claim that a Johnson victory would provoke an exodus of black people. Latest.com quoted him as replying: "Well, let them go if they don't like it here." The Greater London Authority ridiculed the website's claim. A GLA spokesman said: "To imply James McGrath meant all black people who didn't support Boris Johnson should leave the country is utterly absurd."
