HMRC appoints Clasper as chairman
Independent, The (London), Jun 25, 2008
Business News IN BRIEF
*Mike Clasper, the former chief executive of the airports operator BAA, is to take over as chairman at HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC). Mr Clasper's task will be to steady HMRC after a torrid spell in which it has come under fire for management failures and data security blunders - including losing a copy of the entire child benefit database. That scandal sparked the resignation of former chairman Paul Gray last November, and Dave Hartnett has been filling the role temporarily. Mr Clasper will officially take over at the start of August.
