Vaccine fund to help women

*GENEVA The Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation, the group that funds vaccines for children that is backed by the Gates Foundation, is to expand its scope and invest in vaccinations for women. It endorsed a $3.5bn (1.8bn) plan for 2009 to 2020 that includes immunising women against human papilloma virus, a cause of cervical cancer, and rubella, to prevent miscarriages or birth defects.
