IVF plan to help infertile Africans

BARCELONA Doctors are preparing to introduce a cheap in-vitro fertilisation procedure in Africa, where women are often ostracised as witches or social outcasts if they cannot have children. Millions of dollars go into projects to prevent pregnancies, but more than 30 per cent of African women are infertile, the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology heard at its conference in Spain.
