Woodward joins the sock exchange as BOA play FTSE

Independent on Sunday, The,  Feb 18, 2007  by Alan Hubbard

Still on the subject of matchmaking, perhaps this column should apply for a Boxing Board licence.

Our recent suggestion that Sir Clive Woodward be recruited as an intermediary in the sparring between UK Sport and the ABA of England has not only happened, but, as we also revealed, he is to be a permanent member of an advisory body to the sport, working with performance director Terry Edwards in the buildup to Beijing. Woodward (pictured), now the British Olympic Association's own PD, will also play a key role in chairman Colin Moynihan's imaginative initiative, announced at the Stock Exchange, in which 33 FTSE 100 companies will lend their corporate management expertise to sport's national governing bodies. No money, but this share option could pay dividends.
