Moby Last Night mute
After making his fortune turning samples of blues records into a soundtrack for a million computer ads, bald vegan god-botherer Moby has fallen back in love with dance music. 'Last Night' has its moments, and they're usually when he reveals his sense of fun. The samples are from disco and soul, and the not-quite-cutting-edge, not- quite-old-fashioned-enough-to-be-retro electronic backing complements them well. The finest example is "Disco Lies", which sounds like a long-lost Odyssey/Depeche Mode collaboration. "I See the Stars", on the other hand, might as well be an outtake from 'Play'. SP
