Football: Hands off Marcel, says Blues boss

ALEX Ferguson was last night told by Chelsea to forget about making a fresh bid to sign Marcel Desailly.

Blues boss Claudio Ranieri is preparing himself for a phone call from his Manchester United rival.

Fergie has already failed with one secret mission to nab Desailly. The Blues reacted by issuing a hands-off warning and then getting the defensive giant to sign a new two-year deal.

United would have to offer around pounds 15m, but Ranieri insists: "If Manchester United want to sign Marcel they would be wasting their time."
