Topic: RSS FeedYOUR SAY: FLOORED BY COST
Sunday Mirror, Jan 12, 2003 by J David
INSURANCE companies are very convincing when they want you to sign up with them, but adopt a completely different attitude when you make a claim, as you revealed last week.
But what amazes me most is that, despite their initial reluctance to pay out, if you are successful with a claim, they deal with it in such an extravagant way.
We claimed for a new carpet and told the insurer we'd buy locally and my husband would fit it. It would have cost pounds 200.
But they made us go to a well-known retailer and have them fit it at a cost of pounds 750.
If they want to save costs, they should really try trusting their customers a bit more. We're not all dishonest.
