DIVA FEVER: J.Lo vs Reese

'Legally Blonde 2 was an interesting film to work on because the clothes were so crucial to creating the character of Elle Woods. The clothes were gorgeous and all the designers wanted to give them to us for free. Yves Saint Laurent made a lot of our clothes in special colours. We'd call and say, "We love this suit but not in black or blue, we need it in aubergine." 'Elle decides to take Washington by storm with her dog Bruiser, campaigning for animal rights. So we made her look very Jackie Kennedy, very 60s with a pillbox hat. That's what the Legally Blonde 2 Barbie doll looks like too. It was wonderful doing the 60s research, getting all the Kennedy books, getting Reese's input. After Washington, Elle takes her campaign to the streets, so in comes the Che Guevara revolutionary look, with a pink beret and Dolce & Gabbana military corset. And when Elle has an important day in court, she wears a Chanel skirt with a rhinestone belt, $700 (pounds 400) shoes and a Chanel blazer. Reese loved the outfit so much, we gave it to her at the end of the movie.

'Sally Field, who's also in the film, was lovely. When we were in Springfield the local coffee shop put up a sign saying "We sold Sally frickin' Field coffee". 'There was a great wrap party too. Everyone got dressed up, had a lot to drink and watched out-takes from the film. We had karaoke, a fortune- teller and a caricaturist. Reese gave us lots of presents - a cookie that looks like Bruiser, a bag, T- shirts, mugs and a Juicy Couture jumpsuit with Legally Blonde embroidered on it. Some people higher up than me even got a weekend at a spa.

'It was one of the best experiences and this is testament to Reese - she's just so easy-going and friendly. The best thing about her is she has a great sense of humour. She's a regular girl.'

On-set designer clothes

Jen's character dressed in feminine clothes like this floaty Julien Macdonald creation while Reese wore custom-made suits from Yves Saint Laurent

Scandal! When news of Ben's night with a stripper hit the news, Ben visited Jen - and the on-set atmosphere became very tense. Meanwhile, Reese's idea of a wild time is takeaway pizza for the family.

Miss Popularity

Residents of Winnipeg greeted Jen with a 'We love J.Lo' banner. Reese also went down well - filming was split between LA and Illinois, where the locals told her they 'loved her' too.

Off-set style

'Jennifer (above) loves Juicy Couture tracksuits worn with thong sandals and platforms,' Marina says.

Typically, laid-back professional Reese stayed in her character's clothes, but wore a pair of cosy slippers.

Who's the fairest of them all?

When it comes to on-set demands, which star is best behaved?
