Football: Rhyl in the Hunt for cup glory

HOLDERS Rhyl swept into the semi-finals of the Welsh Cup with a 4- 0 success over Cymru Alliance side BALA TOWN.

Two second-half goals by Lee Hunt were the highlight of the win.

Welsh Premier League leaders TOTAL NETWORK SOLUTIONS are also into the last four after their 4-1 triumph against AFAN LIDO, with Mike Wilde scoring twice.

CARMARTHEN made it into the semi-finals with a 1-0 win at CAERSWS, Mark Dodds scoring.

HAVERFORDWEST will complete the semi-final line up after Friday's 2-0 win at ABERYSTWYTH.

Meanwhile, LLANELLI moved off the foot of the table with a 4-1 success at CAERNARFON.

CWMBRAN enjoyed a 1-0 win against CONNAH'S QUAY while BANGOR CITY won 4-1 at PORT TALBOT. AIRBUS UK fought back from 3-1 down at PORTHMADOG to draw 3-3.
