Boxing: Arthur's taking the Mike

ALEX ARTHUR last night threw a spanner into rival Craig Docherty's preparations by claiming that Michael Gomez will be BANNED from helping the Glaswegian.

He said Gomez will be forced to work for Arthur instead in the build up to their clash next month for the British and Commonwealth super-featherweight titles.

Gomez, who has beaten both men, offered to work with Docherty because of his hatred of Arthur but that could rebound on the recently deposed WBU champ.

Arthur said: "At the end of the day both Gomez and myself are Sports Network fighters. Frank Warren wouldn't be too happy about one of us giving tips to what he regards as the enemy.

"He's not going to allow that to happen - in fact, Frank might send Gomez up here to help me."
