As well as working on their day job, these stars have all started up new businesses on the side. No, were not talking about clothing lines or perfume la J.Lo and Gwen Stefani, we mean things like car tyres and tea shops. Rock n roll eh?

P DIDDY

Day job: Rapper

Sideline: Car wheel designer

P Diddy has added yet another string to his diamond-encrusted bow. Hes an international rapper, record label owner, fashion designer, and now the party boy is bringing out a new line of custom- made aluminium wheels. His Bad Boy Worldwide Entertainment Group has teamed up with Kansas Citys Weld Wheel Industries Inc. to make the Sean John Wheels which will cost between pounds 370 and pounds 1,600 each. P Diddy says, Wheels have become a fashion statement a badge of taste and style. And, er, pretentiousness maybe?

GAZZA

Day job: Ex footballer

Sideline: Bar owner

Recovering alcoholic Paul Gascoigne is to team up with his old boozing buddy Chris Evans to open a chain of bars. The ex-England star, 37, is to call the fancy establishments Gascoignes and will launch the first of its kind in Dubai. Sports bars called Gazzas are also planned for Glasgow and Newcastle. The Geordie boy, whos been sober for two years, says, People might think its a bad idea for an alcoholic to open a bar, but it will give me something to focus on. Just because Im an alcoholic, it doesnt mean I think other people dont deserve to enjoy a drink. We couldnt agree more.

CHERYL TWEEDY

Day job: Pop star

Sideline: Tanning salon owner

You rarely see Girls Alouds Cheryl Tweedy looking anything but, well, orange. So its no big surprise to hear shes setting up a tanning salon. The Geordie singer is opening a beauty shop in her home town of Newcastle and is getting her family on board to run the business. She says, Its a great little place. Im really excited its just perfect for Mum and Dad.

JOE COLE

Day job: Footballer

Sideline: Cabbie

Footballer Joe Cole has a goal lined up off the pitch hes setting up a local cab company near his family home in Camden, North London. The 23-year-old Chelsea player has bought a building for pounds 700,000 and plans to convert it into new offices for the company, Meter Cars which includes Cherie Blair as a private account customer.

50 CENT

Day job: Rapper

Sideline: Soft drinks

Rapper 50 Cent already has his own brand, G-Unit, which includes clothes, video games and ringtones and MTV is even making a film about his former life on the streets. But recently, he launched a grape-flavoured Formula 50 vitamin water and its already sold 10 million bottles in the US. 50 Cent? More like 50 million.

Day job: Pop star

Sideline: Face of credit card

Pop star and flashy dancer Usher has lent his face to a credit card. The Usher Raymond 4th Debit MasterCard was launched for a younger market, who dont qualify for plastic. Oh, and you also get discounts on Usher merchandise. How kind of the multi-millionaire.

MOBY

Day job: Musician

Sideline: Tea shop owner

Moby isnt just a man who knows how to score a smash hit he also knows how to make a good cuppa. In summer 2002, the DJ launched a tea cafe, Teany, in New Yorks Lower East Side of Manhattan. Vegan Moby sells 97 different kinds of tea the Antioxidant Cooler and the Vanilla Berry Hibiscus are favourites, apparently. Quick-thinking Moby has already branched out into bottling up the tea for stores and is soon set to release a cookbook. We can safely say hes never going to be short of a dime.

SLY STALLONE

Day job: Actor

Sideline: Magazine owner

Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone is to publish his own mens health magazine, Sly, in America. The muscly Rocky actor is targeting the mature man who is more interested in shifting his beer gut than how many pints he can guzzle. He wants men to believe that life begins at 40. The magazine Will deal with what has worked in my life, and what hasnt, says Sly, 58. We wonder which category ex- wife Brigitte Nielsen falls under...?
