Quentin Willson: GENERAL Motors

0 Comments | Sunday Mirror, Apr 17, 2005 | by Quentin Willson

GENERAL Motors, who are having a torrid time in North America because of massive pension and health care liabilities, not to mention a stable of pretty lacklustre cars, now believe that putting the GM corporate badge on all their models will reassure consumers. A GM suit said: "The name General Motors speaks to people.

It's a brand they trust." I am reminded of a certain other large motor- maker that also felt the need to put a little badge on all its cars. It was British Leyland.
