PAMELA ANDERSON: IS SHE TOO OLD TO RETURN TO HER WILD WAYS?

Whats going on with Pamela Anderson? After spending the past few years trying to project a more demure image of a hard-working single mum, it seems the silicon-enhanced star has returned to her old partying ways with a vengeance and she may even be back with her old flame and bad boy, ex-husband Tommy Lee.

The former Baywatch babe now 38 was snapped knocking back champagne and cavorting sexily on a bed with a naked transsexual, Amanda Lepore, and pals at the swanky Virgin Atlantic 21st birthday celebrations in New York last month. Dressed in a barely-there red frock and matching G-string, guests got an eyeful of Pams assets both above and below the belt as she flirted with guests.

Her scandalous performance came hot on the heels of her recent visit to the UK in April, where she famously went on a nine-hour pink champagne bender after recording appearances on GMTV and Jonathan Rosss chat show.

And just a week after the Virgin party, rumours flew when Pam arrived at an LA nightclub launch dressed to kill in a skimpy gold outfit and holding hands with her ex, Mtley Cre drummer Tommy, who she kissed and snuggled up to all night. Her spokespeople have refused to comment, claiming shes still seeing Blade actor Stephen Dorff, but her pal, fellow wildchild Courtney Love, who also attended the bash, says, Theres something going down.

Though Pams never exactly going to be the girl-next-door, it might be time the mum of two started to act her age. Witnesses at the Virgin bash compared her to Patsy Stone, Joanna Lumleys mutton- dressed-as-lamb character in Absolutely Fabulous. One observer said, It was a bit upsetting you want to see her looking great, but maybe those days are gone.

If Pamelas no longer quite in her physical prime, its hardly surprising. The star has had a rocky ride over the years, suffering violence at the hands of Tommy during their turbulent three-year marriage, more heartache when her romance with her former fianc, musician Kid Rock, failed, and a bout of serious illness when she contracted hepatitis C in 2002.

Its no wonder she decided to take a step back and concentrate on her health, her work for animal charity PETA, and being mum to her sons, Brandon, nine, and Dylan, seven.

But now it seems shes throwing caution to the wind as she reverts to her old wild ways and if shes serious about getting back together with her abusive, party-loving ex, we sense there could be heartbreak ahead.

During Mtley Cres recent UK tour, Tommy was snapped getting down and dirty with countless women in London nightspots, including ex- EastEnders star and Celebrity Love Island loser Judi Shekoni, He also tried and failed to entice newly engaged Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Tweedy to party with him. He told reporters, Pam was and is one hell of a hot chick. But we were doomed from the start.

If Pammies hoping to play happy families with him again, it seems shes got another think coming. Heres hoping she can get her act together and not revisit past mistakes. Shes old enough to know better
