NEWI CEFN DRUIDS took a gigantic stride to Welsh Premier League survival when they recorded a deserved 2-0 home victory over CAERSWS.
They are now six points clear of the club second from bottom Cwmbran and have a vastly superior goal difference.
Mike Heverin gave Druids the lead in the sixth minute and Alan Evans doubled their advantage 13 minutes later.
It was the only Premier League match to survive the weather as both the games at CWMBRAN and NEWTOWN were PORTMADOG and WELSHPOOL respectively were due to have been the visitorswere called off.
