BANK of Ireland's British branches have left their customers fuming - by refusing to handle CASH.

Facilities for customers paying in or withdrawing cash at its branches were stopped a week ago.

One disgruntled Bank of Ireland customer in London said: "The whole thing is outrageous.

"I mean what do you have a bank account for if not to withdraw money or make deposits?

"I also can't believe that I haven't received any information to inform me of these changes.

"I've been a customer with the Bank of Ireland for over six years and they can't even be bothered to let me know of these ridiculous changes."

But a BoI spokesman said: "Bank of Ireland is moving its cash facilities as the demand for cash has fallen and the majority of customers are using other methods of paying and withdrawing cash such as internet banking."
