MIAMI VICE: SEASON TWO (15)

THE STORY Sonny Crockett (Don Johnson) and Rico Tubbs (Philip Michael Thomas) are back on the Miami mean streets putting away drug barons and various low-lifes. Guest stars include a young Nathan Lane, Pam Grier, Frank Zappa and Miles Davis, with music featured from the likes of Depeche Mode, Phil Collins and Peter Gabriel.

THE EXTRAS Annoyingly none, but the six-disc set features all 22 episodes of season two.

THE VERDICT With the new big-screen version of Miami Vice about to hits screens, here is a great chance to enjoy the classic 80s original. Stylish, exciting and so cool, Miami Vice remains a true classic.

THE STORY Security expert Jack Stanfield (Harrison Ford) is forced to break into his own theft-proof bank when a brutal mastermind (Paul Bettany) kidnaps his family. But Jack is determined to turn the tables on the criminals.

THE VERDICT An entertaining thriller.

TARKA THE OTTER (PG)

THE STORY Filmed over two years this 70s classic follows the life of young otter Tarka as he struggles to survive following the death of his mother, finds love - and eventually comes face-to-face with Deadlock, the otterhound that killed his mother.

THE EXTRAS Sadly none.

THE VERDICT A welcome DVD release of a true family favourite, with a wonderful narration by Peter Ustinov.
