Golf: It's next stop India

Sunday Mirror,  Feb 11, 2007

THE European Tour is considering widening its travel base to include a tournament in India for the first time in 2008.

The sub-continent has no shortage of business names to provide a sponsorship deal. And Indian players are starting to challenge at big tournaments with Jeev Milkha Singh winning the Volvo Masters.

Keith Waters, the tour's director of international policies, said: "We have had talks with several people interested in staging a tournament in India and are just waiting for the right financial deal."
